Got Power?

It was about 11:00 p.m. and I hear 2 loud bangs and
my apartment goes black! I searched around for my
phone and called my neighbor. A bunch of us then walked
up to the street and were warmly welcomed by a power
pole that had been plowed down by some fabulous
person who decided to drive impaired. Even better is that
he/she fled the scene! Awesome (said with excessive sarcasm).
Needless to say we were all without power for most of
the freezing cold winter night. Kudos to the wicked awesome
power guys who were outside all night fixing everything.
They pretty much rock!

The Best of Bestor

I was lucky enough to attend Kurt Bestor's
Christmas Concert this year at Abravanel Hall.
AMAZING!
It definitely gets a person in the Christmas spirit...
A little snow on the ground, great friends, and
great entertainment. If you haven't heard any of
his work....check him out @ http://www.kurtbestor.com/.

Photos? Shoot!!

So this was our attempt at taking a super fantastic picture
for this years Christmas card. For those of you not in
attendance....Gabe was NOT in the mood.

Trying to get a cute shot of me spinning
him around. Ha!

Gabe says, "nice try mom!"

This picture almost looks like we are starting to have fun...
What you can't see are Gabe's teeny tiny fingernails digging
into my neck so I will let him go. Thanks for the effort Kel!

Gabe Funnies....

This is my conversation with Gabe about bull-riding.
(random topic I know)

Gabe: They have to put those big cows in the guarded.
Mom: Why?
Gabe: So when they hear the buzzer go uurrhhh....
they can go out and kick and kick.

While the "big cows" are out kicking and kicking...Gabe is
cheering them on. "Buck him off, Buck him off!" Once
said cowboy has been successfully disposed off he encourages
the "big cows" by telling them "good job, I'm so proud of you!"

Mom: So what happens after they buck off the cowboy?
Gabe: They hear the buzzer go uurrrhhh....
Mom: What do they have to do then?
Gabe: That means they have to go in time out!

This little boy cracks me up with the things he comes up with.
How would it be to have the imagination of a child!

Gabe's Favorite Things to Say:

"You know the rules"
"I'm so proud of you"
"I sure love you mom"

Fall is in the air...

Silver Lake

Gabe running so he doesn't get left behind.

They are supposed to be showing me their muscles...
but Bita looks like a little monkey. Gabe on the
other hand, almost has the flexing pose down.

We decided spur of the moment to head up Cottonwood
Canyon to Silver Lake. It was a little chilly, but a great
afternoon trip overall. We threw pinecones in the lake and
collected leaves in a rainbow of colors:)
Happy Fall Y'all!

Soccer anyone?

GO TIGERS!!!

Right in the middle of all the action...

I was able to find a soccer league that has a team

for 3 and 4 year olds. Gabe absolutely loves it.

He is convinced that you must yell "golden" if you kick the

ball into the net. Needless to say we don't yell "golden"

too often with ten 3 year olds running the field. It sure is

fun for Gabe and very entertaining for the parents.

The "L" word....LAUNDRY!

Laundry and I aren't friends. That is for sure.
I have found that if you change things up a
bit, it's not quite so terrible.
To the naked eye this looks like a typical
basket of clean fluffy towels. But wait...

It's alive! I have to say...this is the funnest AND cutest

basket of laundry I have ever come across.

Lovely Ladies

I am lucky enough to have all sorts of Grandmothers'.
Grandma (Shorty) Anna and Grandma Mary Louise:)
Two very amazing women!

Memorial Day

Me and Grandpa Duane.
My grandpa is an amazing example of a great patriot.
I have always been so proud of his service in the
National Guard. He always shows such great respect
for our country and soldiers. Thanks for such a great
example. Love you bunches!

Put up your boots???

Here is Duke the Bear and Gabe fighting it out.

We were at my mom's house and she and Gabe were playing.

She found this teddy bear with boxing gloves and told Gabe to

"put up your dukes". Gabe's interpretation "put up your boots".

So the fought it out with boots and dukes!

Fat Cat's Fun

Stellar shoes.

Gabe is a very focused bowler.

Me and my favorite 8 year old:) Lil' Miss Bita.

Ready....Set....GO!

Meet the fastest horse in the state of Utah.
LIGHTNING!

Gabe and I went to the horse races in South Jordan to

watch Papa Lee's horses race. They have stick horse races

in between each actual horse race and Gabe got to run.

This is a picture of the winners circle for the toddler race:)

How does your garden grow?

With dirt,

water,

and sunshine!

Here is our little make-shift garden this summer.

We decided to grow a few tomato plants, peas, and

jalapenos. Fresh peas with a little home-made salsa.

What a treat!

Dopey, Grumpy, Doc, Happy, Bashful, Sneezy, and SLEEPY...

It sure must be hard being 3. This little guy plays so hard
and has so much fun, he just passes out anywhere.

Brown-eyed Boy

I love this guy!

Click. Click. Click...

So I have to brag about my sister for
just a minute. She is an amazingly
talented photographer. She gets lots
of practice taking pictures of her 3
adorable children. Thanks to her I have
some of the cutest pictures of Gabe!
Thanks Kel you are the best:)

One more day......

So I was riding home tonight and the song "One More Day"
by Diamond Rio came on. I couldn't help but think of Matt.
Not only because he and I went to the Diamond Rio concert
together several years ago but how much I wish we could all
have just one more day with him. He was an amazing man!
I am so lucky that his girls were so willing to share him with
me and my family. He was our big teddy bear dad:) I have
so many great memories to look back on. Scuba diving in the
city pool, playing with a hovercraft at the middle school, long
talks and long drives, and how much he loved. I know
he is watching over all of us. A little happy thought for me...
my toe nails will always be painted red for you Matt.
Love You and Miss You!

GABERS . . . 4/28/05

First days.

First trip to Disneyland.

First Birthday.

I can't believe that it was 3 years ago that this little

man stole my heart. I know I am a bit biased,

but he is the coolest kid I know! I am unbelievably

blessed to have him in my life.

Happy Birthday Gabe!!!

Grandma Tina

I can in all honesty say that my mom is one of Gabe's
favorite people. We call and talk to her every morning
and he tells her all about everything. She is always so
patient with Gabe and me for that matter. My mom
has been there for Gabe and I through thick and thin.
There is no way I could live without her! I am so grateful
I have such an amazing example to look to
when it comesto being a mom.
I just hope she knows how fantastic she really is :)
Sure do love you!

Take me out to the ball game

Hey batter batter....

Mom and Gabers. So cheesy!

I love this boy so much!

Isn't this picture cute???

Cousins, cousins, cousins....

Mr. Max
He is seriously one of the happiest babies I have ever seen!
and super cute to boot :0)

The 2 newest additions to the family.

Max and Adam. Soooo cute!

Here is the more wild bunch of cousins. Notice they are
all armed with some kind of sword or gun.
It was a bit dangerous to be in their pathway.
Jake, Jarom, Anna, and Gabe.
Poor little Chloe was sick and didn't want to get
mixed up with the likes of these crazy kids!
